careless missteps

carved out of wood,
cut like a wedge.
the stairs are ironically
hard to get used to.
they are a game;
you got to be careful,
balancing your way upwards.
in a slip,
a careless misstep,
you could fall

right back down
to the ground.

isn't it fun -

barely two meters tall
off of the mound.
yet an illusion that

scares our weak mind
oh so playfully,

a little challenge:

going up
up
up

up
to the top

the game will be

worth it.
