pale horizon

no. 1

2018

oil on canvas

160 x 160 cm

unique

lifeless waves are washing over
the beach in the early morning,
footprints faded out
like ghosts that are out of our reach.
the sun looks bright,
but it’s not here to stay
i hear the sky sigh,

oh so softly,
as  clouds disappear
is this the end of our world?
i cannot hear the birds chirp any longer.
their songs are on hold.
i close my eyes as the empty mist rises
and turn my body to face
the pale horizon
