Save Our Rivers is a social program which helps spread awareness to Vietnamese locals about the ways in which they can protect the rivers in their towns and cities. Through cultural and creative activates, in which both adults and children can partake, the Save Our Rivers project aims to educate the public through the means of pleasure and entertainment. So far, the campaign has taken place in several public schools and universities all across the country. There, residential celebrities have given speeches about the state of water pollution in Vietnam: the kind of damage it can cause to the health and life overall – information that unfortunately not many in this country know about.
Through these activities, the campaign has hoped to raise awareness amongst younger generations, by verbally providing them with humble solutions such as not littering into rivers and other bodies of water – solutions which can combat the current water pollution situation in Vietnam, in small yet significant doses. The Save Our Rivers program is run by a group of Vietnamese artists, based in Ho Chi Minh, who hold may creative outlets in the city. With SOR, their goal was to create a cultural playground for the children of tomorrow, that is both educational and playful – one that allows them to simultaneously learn and contribute to society.
Recently, the program held an event that received a positive response and great success. During the following event, young students of the Pacific International School, together, painted a 5-meters long painting, illustrating their vision and hopes for clean water and rivers.
Thuy Nguyen, the founder of SOR, is not just a fashion designer who has created numerous unique, yet tradition-oriented collections, but also a popular fine artist in Ho Chi Minh City. By being a part of the Save Our Rivers, she has hoped to shed light on the environmental issues that exist in Vietnam by inspiring younger generations to help protect our much-needed ecosystem.

Save Our Rivers là tên gọi của chương trình công đồng kêu gọi và nâng cao ý thức của người dân thông qua các hoạt động văn hoá nghệ thuật.
Chiến dịch sẽ đến các trường học nhằm truyền thông rộng rãi, đưa đến những thông tin thiết thực về thực trạng ô nhiễm môi trường nước và những tác động xấu ảnh hưởng tới cuộc sống cũng như sức khỏe trước mắt và lâu dài đối với mọi người dân.
Với các hoạt động về chủ đề dòng sông, suy nghĩ về dòng sông cho thế hệ trẻ nhận thức được: mỗi hành động nhỏ của mình như không vứt rác bừa bãi, không xả chất thải trực tiếp ra sông hồ mà phải sử dụng những phương pháp xử lý nước an toàn trước khi đưa ra môi trường tự nhiên... để tránh làm ô nhiễm và phần nào cải thiện nguồn nước và cuộc sống của chúng ta. Save Our Rivers là hoạt động của một nhóm nghệ sĩ tại TP.HCM, tổ chức những sự kiện nghệ thuật, nhằm tạo sân chơi văn hoá lành mạnh cho trẻ em và đồng thời giáo dục những kiến thức về môi trường sống. Vừa qua, chương trình tổ chức thành công một sự kiện: vẽ nên bức tranh màu nước dài 5m bằng sự hợp sức của các em học sinh tại trường quốc tế Thái Bình Dương (PHS) thể hiện cái nhìn và mong muốn của trẻ em về dòng sông quê hương.
Thủy Nguyễn không chỉ là nhà thiết kế sở hữu những bộ sưu tập thời trang ứng dụng nữ tính, mang phong cách riêng Á Đông, mà còn là một họa sĩ có tiếng ở TP.HCM. Tham gia, Save Our Rivers, chị hy vọng mình và các nghệ sĩ sẽ mang đến cho giới trẻ cái nhìn thiết thực về môi trường và cùng chung tay bảo vệ nó.
